<p>You need to be pro-active, creative, different and most of all persistent to shine bright to potential employers.</p>

<p>Now this sounds obvious, however, Project Resource on average will receive 300+ CVs every month, so getting yourself noticed is paramount.  Astoundingly from this 300, only 2-5 of these applicants call us (that&#8217;s 1%).  It&#8217;s those pro-active people who normally get the interview, and in many cases get the job with us.</p>

<p>Here I thought I would highlight a simple idea that if you are looking for a new job, you can try, to make a difference and get yourself noticed, STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD.  It&#8217;s a noisy world now with the internet (hundreds of job boards, social media, company careers pages), traditional media (newspapers, TV) and so on.  You need to be pro-active, creative, different and most of all persistent to shine bright to potential employers.</p>

<p>We are looking for people to <a title="View our current Birmingham office job opportunities" href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us/recruitment-jobs-birmingham.aspx" target="_blank">join our Birmingham office</a>, which we opened in March 2008 and which is going from strength to strength.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a great time to join our company, and specifically the London office.  It is so exciting to be working for a growing company, knowing that you are part of its success, your input is valued and makes a real difference.</p>

<p>We are looking for people to <a title="View our current Reading office job opportunities" href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us/recruitment-jobs-reading.aspx" target="_blank">join our Reading office</a>, which we opened in October 2002 and which is also our HQ.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a great time to join our company, and specifically the Reading office.  It is so exciting to be working for a growing company, knowing that you are part of its success, that your input is valued and that it makes a real difference.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I came across this survey today and thought it of interest.  If you work in the recruitment industry, it’s likely you “fell” into recruitment by chance, according to a popular poll on LinkedIn that was started by Claire Barrow.  Two out of three respondents fell into recruitment and only 13% choose it as a career (see below).</p>
<p><a href="http://www.project-resourceblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/how-did-you-get-into-recruitment.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4758" title="how did you get into recruitment" src="http://www.project-resourceblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/how-did-you-get-into-recruitment.jpg" alt="" width="527" height="342" /></a></p>
<p>Does this figure surprise you?  Well it&#8217;s not that surprising to me because I speak to Recruiters every day and this is of about our profession.   Most recruiters did not start on their career journey saying <em>&#8220;I want to be a recruitment consultant&#8221;.</em> It&#8217;s great job, of that there is no doubt, and I think that it will, in time, become as well known as more traditional careers.<span id="more-4757"></span></p>
<p>Most recruiters start their <a title="View our current recruitment job opportunities." href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us.aspx" target="_blank">recruitment job</a>, like it, and keep doing it for years.</p>
<p>Well speaking for <a title="Connect to me on LinkedIn." href="http://uk.linkedin.com/in/kareningram" target="_blank">myself</a> I didn’t plan a career in recruitment, but I have been working in recruitment since 1995 and loved every minute of it.  My current job involves sourcing and qualifying people to come and work for <a title="Visit the Project Resource website." href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk" target="_blank">Project Resource</a>.  We have grown to 4 offices and we are always looking for bright and ambitious people to <a title="View our current recruitment job opportunities." href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us.aspx" target="_blank">join us</a> as we continue on our journey to grow and be the very best we can be.</p>
<p><a title="Connect to Bill or view his profile on LinkedIn." href="http://uk.linkedin.com/in/willwynn" target="_blank">Bill Wynn</a>, a <a title="Read more about the Project Resource Directors." href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/contact-us/our-directors.aspx" target="_blank">Project Resource Director</a> stated: <em>&#8220;I finished university, my first job was working as a teacher in Further Education.  I realised after 1 year of doing that job that it was not for me long-term, so I approached a recruitment agency to find me a job that would suit my skills, personality and ambition.  I was advised to interview for marketing jobs or recruitment jobs.  I had a few interviews for both job types, was offered each job I interviewed for, but chose to work in recruitment, and what a great choice it was.</em></p>
<p>We say “the first job you take, the second job/career you choose”.<em> </em>I never regretted my decision to work in recruitment.  How about you?  Did you fall into recruitment or was it planned?</p>

		<title>Jobs, jobs, jobs.  Demand is high, so where are all the good people?</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well its going to be another exciting week for me, regardless of the doom and gloom in the news and the so-called stumbling economic recovery.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m working 24/ 7 right now, it&#8217;s recruit, recruit, recruit as far as Project Resource is concerned and it is my job to find <a title="Read some of our Team Success Stories" href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us/team-success-stories.aspx" target="_blank">our next future leaders</a>.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a very exciting time to join our growing business, and right now we <a href="hhttp://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us.aspx"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-4128" title="top-performer" src="http://www.project-resourceblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/top-performer-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="142" height="142" /></a>have job openings in all four of our offices (<a title="View our London office current job opportunities." href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us/recruitment-jobs-london.aspx" target="_blank">London</a>, <a title="View our current Solihull office job opportunities" href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us/recruitment-jobs-birmingham.aspx" target="_blank">Birmingham</a>, <a title="View our current Manchester job opportunities" href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us/recruitment-jobs-manchester.aspx" target="_blank">Manchester</a>, <a title="View our current Reading office job opportunities" href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/join-us/recruitment-jobs-reading.aspx" target="_blank">Reading</a>).  Having been with the business since very near the start in 2002/3, I have seen the company grow from 3 people and 1 office to become the multiple office business, with many of the junior team members progressing through the company to head up those new offices and in <a title="Read more about Andrew and his Project Resource journey." href="http://www.project-resource.co.uk/about-us/our-directors.aspx" target="_blank">Andrew Szklarek&#8217;s</a> case become a Director of the business, when prior to working with us he had no recruitment experience.</p>
<p><span id="more-4125"></span>You do not need recruitment experience to be a success in recruitment, but you do need the right attitude, values and the right company environment (which Project Resource certainly has).</p>
